Boutique Assistant

Requirements: Minimal experience in the retail industry (or equivalent).
Knowledge: Basic management and accounting principles.

Main responsibilities

  • Ensure an excellent level of customer service to Senators, MPs, parliamentary employees and visitors
  • Inventory management and control
  • Product and store merchandising
  • Cash management and control

Important tasks

  • Ensure that daily operations run as smoothly as possible
  • Ensure Boutique cleanliness and appearance

Determined duration

  • Probation period: 3 months
  • Work period: Maximum of 12 months, renewable each school year 

Eligibility

You must:

  • Be enrolled in a college or university program
  • Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident
  • Have an interest in customer service and teamwork
  • Possess good interpersonal skills
  • Be able to work some weekdays and weekends

Position information

Job type:   Part-time (school) to full time (summer)
Work days:

  • Weekdays and weekends from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
  • Open year-round except for Canada Day, Christmas day and New Year's day

Successful candidates

If you are selected during this process, you will be required to:

  • Participate in an interview (in-person or online) that will consist of answering behavioural, situational or knowledge-based questions related to the retail industry
  • Pass a reference check
  • Pass a successful pre-employment screening
  • Pass a second language oral proficiency test (oral C)

 If you are selected during this process, you may be required to:

  • Provide proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency
  • Provide a copy of your schedule for the next semester
